New Scout & Parent Resources

Below is a list of forms, dues and other information that you will need to know when you get started with the troop. 

Complete Forms (contact a Scoutmaster for forms)
  • Youth BSA Application
  • Medical Forms A/B
  • Adult Application (if interested in volunteering)
  • Create an account on my.scouting.org to take the online Youth Protection Training and to submit a new Adult Application
  • Merit Badge Counselor Form (if interested; this is a paper document that you can request)
  • Family Talent Survey and Household Contact Info (include names and contact information for other parents or guardians; paper form what is available upon request)

Complete Digital Items
  • Connect to Scoutbook (you will receive an invitation in your inbox-please complete all steps)
  • Connect other Parents/Guardians to Scoutbook (will also receive an invitation in their inboxes once initial parent account is created and linked to the appropriate scout)
  • Subscribe to the ScoutBook calendar
  • Make Sure You are Receiving Troop Emails
  • Scoutbook Tutorial
  • Like our Facebook Page
  • Join our Facebook Group

Pay Initial Dues and Fees
  • $60 if coming from a Pack
  • $93 ($105 with a subscription to Boys’ Life Magazine) if new to Scouting
  • Checks can be made out to Troop 289
  • Paypal can be sent to treasurertroop289@gmail.com

Receive Troop Provided Items
  • Class B Shirt
  • Shoulder Loops, Neckerchief and Slide
  • Troop Shoulder Numbers
  • Patrol Patch

Decide on and RSVP for Upcoming Events and Summer Camp
  • Calendar is located within Scoutbook
  • RSVP via Scoutbook
