About the TroopTroop 289 is a boy led troop chartered by Circle Ten Council. The Troop meets every Monday at 7 pm at the Collinsbrook Canoe Club during the school year and every other Monday during the summer. The troop participates in service projects including Prosper Christmas, Senior Dinner and Bethlehem House. We use the patrol method and are heavily focused on a boy led philosophy.
Troop 289 has camp outs every month. Past camp outs have focused on outdoor cooking, biking, hiking, and canoeing. We have regular events like a mid-winter lock-in, trips to historical locations and participating in a Merit Badge University. Each summer we attend a week-long summer camp. In 2023, we attended Kia Kima summer camp located in the Ozarks of Arkansas. We also sent a crew to the Florida Sea Base located in the Florida Keys. |
